I went on a Google sponsored site visit today. The Fairfield County School District has done a great job moving towards 1:1 with Chromebooks.
During our morning presentation one of the middle school teachers, Michael Glover, shared his experiences with rolling out and using Chromebooks. I tweeted one of his comments
Technology in education: "Students are ready to go, teachers are the ones usually pumping the breaks to slow things down." #teamfairfieldsc
After the comment was made people sitting at my table all agreed this seemed to be the case everywhere. Teachers are oftentimes the road block in the move to regular use of devices in the classroom.
So my question is How do you get the teachers to the point where they are comfortable with the devices and willing to take risk? Because once they get to this point they will never go back to a class with no student devices.
